I’m putting a redirect on two sites I run. (Long story short, I’m not getting the money I’m owed for hosting and other back bills.) I still use an email address on one of the sites so I don’t want to completely shut it off yet…just make the website unavailable for those looking for it.
I don’t want to use anything defamatory or potentially embarrassing, mostly because I still use an email at that domain. (I initially considered herpes.com, but that’s a little much, I think.)
shutofftheinternet.com seemed like a great choice, but it seems to be down. (Inspiration taken from this thread. )
Just so no one tisk-tisks me on this - the websites are both for a local band, now defunct. It was a very laid back arrangement up until a few months ago, when the members borrowed some money from me and haven’t been in contact since. This is a typical behavior pattern for them. My goal in this is to A. have a laugh and B. get them to contact me, probably with the intro “Hey, the site is sending me to XYZ.com, what’s up with that?”
Since the site is hosted on my account, I paid for the domain name, etc. I have no moral qualms mucking about with thier online identity. But dammit, I want to do something funny!
So…anyone have suggestions? (If I could find that old “You’ve reached the last page of the internet, now go outside” gem, I might use that.) Right now I’m using JohnKerry.com, the forum redirect goes to some .edu page with a space-time thesis, and the second site redirect goes to jambase.com. I need more funny.
