Once in a long while, like every few weeks instead of a page I wanted (SDMB in this case) I get a page which looks like an error page and says something like the site was inaccessible due to the router something or other and click here to configure: my router.
Prudent person that I am but also curious I take precautions. I see the link goes to http:// myrouter .com (link broken on purpose).
So I go to that place with great care and I see the page has a frame which redirects to http:// www . cnomy.com (again, broken on purpose) with information appended that it was redirected from myrouter dot com.
I look up cnomy and find
I am pretty certain my computer is clean. It seems some error in my page request may cause this page to be delivered but how? what are the mechanics of this? Wouldn’t my ISP have to be complicit? How does it work?
Heh, I just got my first page like that last week. I just closed my browser and reopened because I was skeered. I’ll be anxiously awaiting the answer here, too!
