I need to stop stinking (ultimate BO thread)

I’m hygienic, but I work out. I do the Versaclimber for 1/2 , get off of it, and I reek. Really bad. Kill Rhinos at 50 yards bad. It’s this sour bodacious nasty smell.

It smells like I’m dying inside.

I have a pretty good diet, and I drink lots of fluids. I use deoderant, but it’s not just my armpits, it’s a whole body sweat stink.

Is there anything I can eat or do to make my sweat smell better?

Does the foul smell mean I’m ill somehow?

I’m actually worried.

(no, it’s nothing new. I’ve always stunk when I work out.)

I’m lucky, I don’t have this problem. But sometimes I get stinky feet. I mean makes your cat do a double take stinky.

I went to google and put in sweat stink health. Then I waded through some really strange sites and found these.

(Bathe regularly with antibacterial soaps…BO is also sometimes associated with specific health problems. Ailments such as diabetes, digestive problems, yeast infections and liver dysfunction may cause unusual body odor. Bottom line: if you stink even after taking routine measures, seek medical attention.)

(My experience of using Protex on a daily basis is that my BO problem is now down to about 5% of what it was.)

(For excessive sweating Mycoderm powders works, but steer clear of the eyes. Dermatologists recommend powders with neomycin and gentamicin for stubborn body odour. )

There was also one site that recommended taking Zinc. I hope this helps you out. (By the way, I don’t know if the products mentioned in the last 2 links are widely available. These may have been non-US sites.)

Hope this helps.

How does it work on evil Nazi groundhogs?

Stop eating meat.

Chlorophyll pills. Really. Helps with flatulence, also.

Have you talked to an endocrinologist about it? Sometimes people are just plain stinky, but other times there’s an organic cause. Check it out with your doc.

Become a vegetarian or vegan. Seriously.
OK, I don’t know if there is any evidence for it, but I’ve heard this from vegetarian propagandists, and I (vegetarian) don’t stink, so tally up one ‘anecdote’.

I knew a kid when I was in High School who had BO so bad, his parents couldn’t sell their house. Doctors finally figured out that his body was not producing a particular enzyme to break down something in food.
