I was reading up on the idecency hearings in Washington and they mentioned those 2 shock jocks in NY, Opie and Anthony who got fired for the St. Pats sex scandal. I did a web search on these guys and found a site that has tons of audio from their old show. I was amazed at the list of comics who were semi -regulars on their show.
People like Jim Norton, Jim Breur, Colin Quinn, Dice Clay, Rich Vos, Patrice O’neil, Jack Black, Steven Lynch, Jay Mohr, Brian Regan, ect.
I think Colin Quinn got his idea for Tough Crowd from all the times O&A let him feed ideas to the in studio comics.
I thought these guys were Stern wanna be’s but I’ve discovered they are nothing like him. Anthony is a really good impersonator, comic and musician and Opie is so mean that it’s funny.

these guys were from boston, they got kicked off the air for telling people the mayor was dead. their comedy is old hat, and to top it off they got replaced by even old hat. tired rocko and birdsey. now birdsey is with storm on FNX in boston and that is equally as retarded.
From what I’ve read…they were both born and raised on Long Island. I understand Rocko lost his job along with the program director of wjfk because O&A came back to Boston in syndication and destroyed his ratings.
I don’t know about old hat. I’m new to them but they don’t sound like anything I’ve ever heard before. Maybe they recreated themselves in NYC.
I will say I’ve listened to some of the old clips and they did sound a little old hat but the newer material with Jim Norton is definataly fresh.
