I bought enough candy for about 100, and I think we had about 40 callers. It was a hard, cold drizzle in the upper 30s, and I was surprised there were that many. I didn’t see many costumes as I was accompanied by our older dog, who wanted to open the door with me, and everybody wanted to pet him, so I had to make sure they were gentle. Everyone was polite this year.
Absolutely ZERO, so I now have huge amounts of leftover candy (and a diabetic DH). I do have options for finding new homes for the candy, so it’s workable, but I am disappointed. Really wanted to see cute little mooches!
I had a bunch of trick or treaters and a pony!
In 8 years, we’ve had 2 trick-or-treaters – both were immediate neighbors. I don’t buy candy anymore. If anyone were to show up, they would get something from my personal stash. It would be a full sized bar, but it would be very bitter dark chocolate.
Our across-the-street neighbor counted 150 trick-or-treaters, so I assume we got about that many. Our neighborhood is full of kids. Also, there’s no trunk-or-treat around here, because that would assume a large, sparsely used parking lot. Those, we definitely do not have.
My coworkers loved me today when they saw me dump a giant load of candy into the community bowl.
They ate all of the chocolate already  savages.
I’ve lived in this apartment complex for 10 years, and I’ve never had a single trick-or-treater. I don’t even buy candy anymore, because I’ll just end up eating it all.
We had 4 small groups, last year we had easily 200, we live on a busy street in between two schools. All my friends around Denver and Boulder reported a major lack of trick or treaters, I blame the Jessica Ridgeway murder.
Last Saturday they had a children’s costume parade on my street, so I did get to see a lot of costumes then, at least. I have a ton of candy.
I think some of the suburbs near me changed Trick or Treat to Saturday because of the weather, and power outages. Many people still have no electricity. This year Halloween was extra spooky by default. Lots of dark neighborhoods.
I’m in the city, in a 5-apartment house on a residential street with no other apartments. Moreover, my door faces the back of the house. Therefore, zero trick or treaters to our doors, front or back. Ever.
I always wrap a bunch of Hershey miniatures in a tissue paper ghost and leave it with a hand made card at the door of the little boy who lives in the apartment upstairs. Makes me feel like I am participating in Halloween, at least a little bit.
I can sometimes hear some kids out on the street, but not this year. It was pretty quiet. And we do have power.
My dad normally calls and tells me about his trick or treaters as the night goes on. He had no power till evening yesterday, and was trying to save the cell cause the landline was out. He just got the phone and internet back this evening. I don’t know if he got any and they normally get at least some kids from the neighborhood.
Yeah, you bet! The tricks and the treats are rather non-standard, though.
Wow. I had a good turnout. At least 74 kids got candy, because that’s how many Kick-or-Treat cards I gave out as well. Doesn’t count the little weezers who are too young for Taekwondo.
I think I had more kids last year. Got 65 this year, and still have eight bags of candy left. I live in a suburban area and should have gotten at least a dozen more kids.
