You sound like CGP Grey. If this happens, he’ll go out of his way to go to a different Starbucks for a while until they forget him. Though he tries to rotate often enough that no one recognizes him anyways.

It really, really freaked him out when he complained about something on his web show and it got fixed. He says that there are times when he’s “on” and you can meet him, but, the rest of the time, he wants to be left alone. At most, give like a nod of acknowledgement or wave if you see him. (And do not say “You’re CGP Grey!” Even Brady finds that awkward.)

You would have loved this one bar in Bangkok, closed a long time ago. But you know how the Cheers theme song went, “Where everybody knows your name”? Well, this bar’s motto, I kid you not, was: “Where nobody knows your name.”

I tend to use my cat’s name when ordering something and the counter person needs a name. Hers is easier to spell than mine, and she doesn’t care.

Then she came clean with the real answer, which speaks to the first post: “Starbucks wants us to interact more with the customers and develop relationships. We can offer suggestions-- if you like this then you’ll probably like that.”

To hell with that. I want to see a menu I don’t want to play any games just to order.
