Am I the only one who sees something seriously wrong with this picture?! Some primal maniac is tearing the flesh off of a guy’s face, and a cop is actually going to order him to stop more than once before blowing his head off?! As far as I’m concerned, this is yet another example of how there is more concern for the criminals than the victims.

Yes, in this particular case, human face eating may need a stronger response. Such as using a taser, a night stick, or tackling him. But as far as I’m concerned, this is more another case of “cops should all come home alive, so I’ll just kill anybody that can remotely be conceived as a possible threat”. We as a society should be concerned for the criminals as well as the victims, because spot judgements can be wrong. Not everything is as clear cut as face eating.

For all anyone knew at the time, he was already dead. The criminal in this case, Rudy Eugene, has the notoriety of being the first person ever tasered by the North Miami Police Department, so it isn’t like they couldn’t do it.
But again, your comment was “this is yet another example of how there is more concern for the criminals than the victims.” which is unsupported. Especially as the criminal ended up dead, you know.
