I read her posts. I may find them dull, boring or twee. That is not for me to judge, because I have control of what I read. I personally like that shit, others may differ.

But, yes I think parents should be serious about raising kids. It’s a difficult job with little, if any, compensation. No benefits. Not much glory.

Removing cleaning supplies from their reach is a very easy thing to do. Much less difficult than many other safety concerns.
You strive to keep them safe, then they become teens and hopefully live. Then they up and leave you, about the time you think they can navigate the world sorta safely.
I took my parenting not as a right but a true obligation to get them adult and alive.

For what it’s worth, I can’t help much on that front because I stopped reading him after I said “If you ask me…” followed by substantive comments on a topic I had been actively engaged in and had some relevant professional experience on, and he responded with “Well no one will, they’re going to ask…” a list of people who, while doubtless well-informed on the subject, are not members of this board.
So rather than tell him to just shut the fuck up (and can you imagine, if I’d said that, they’d have given me the warning???), I went ahead and ensured that–as far as I can tell–he actually would. But I still like to see other people’s digs at him from time to time. Which makes hijacks of this thread all the more irksome. I ain’t got nowhere else to go!
I’m in the same boat. I actually had him on ignore at one point, took him off ignore after he says he’d drop some of his behavior that he was doing on purpose to antagonize people, and he did for a while. Then in a thread he did his game where he intentionally misrepresented what I said, and rather than rise to the bait I ignored him again and he’s been on ignore since.
I look forward to the day he gets banned because I’m annoyed by the notifications that a thread has a new post just to find out that it’s his, so it doesn’t really have a new post. (I wish Discourse would cut off notifications for people on ignore, maybe I’ll get off my butt and make a Site Feedback thread about it.)
