Relative to size they are pretty damn beefy for a felid. One of the other little wild cats like an oncilla or a kodkod would be a little bit harder to separate (although you absolutely can) from some weird domestic hybrid.
Not relevant to anything but what is up with the Americas and its obsession with myriad little spotted cats
