In my entire time here, I’ve never even merited a warning from a mod. In my entire time here, only one poster saw fit to call me the above.
Fuck off and go to hell.
Finn called you a troll?!
That’s fucking ridiculous. You’re no troll, nowhere close.
I was gonna make the point that six different accusations of trollery in two months by one poster is inherently suspect simply on the grounds that one doesn’t run into trolls that often; the mods generally weed them out pretty fast, for which I thank them. The very frequency of the accusations leads one to at least suspect that the poster in question must be looking for trolls so intensely that he’s seeing trolling when it isn’t there, or just using it as a synonym for ‘poster I dislike.’
But it’s always possible that a poster has run into six genuine incidents of trolling in two months. That clearly didn’t happen in Finn’s case, though.
Any chance of a link to where **Finn ** called you a troll? I already said I think he is wrong about RTF. I am curious what cause his accusation in your case.
Jim
- bolding mine.
Yep. That’s one claim we can all surely agree on: in your twisted mind, you’re never wrong.
Seek therapy. The sooner the better – for you of course. Not like I give a fuck about your self-righteous, batshit crazy, foaming at the mouth, spittle-filled scrolls.
Perhaps we should all stop feeding The Troll.
Finn Goddamn Again. Biggest fuckin’ conceited attention whore on the SDMB (in a close contest with the newly surfaced and surprisingly undead, Liberal)
Can I have this as a sigline?
(My coloring)
Are you now accusing Liberal of being a Vampire?
Surely you know it’s a reference to his “I’m dying” thread which I can’t be arsed to search for at the moment.
What, exactly, he’s come back as, I have no clue. Though a vampire, with his train of “though,” wouldn’t exactly surprise me.
I did, after midnight, I just cannot seem to stop making dumb jokes. It seemed like an easy one.
:dubious:
Wouldn’t that be a zombie, rather?
Hmm…maybe. But aren’t vampires and zombies both part of the “undead”? Or maybe vampires should be called the “undying.”?
Hell’s bells, ETF, now you’ve got me all confused.
:: rubs hands in satisfaction ::
My work here is done.
I’m not going to break your streak, but I’ll point out that we ask people not to change poster’s names in attributed quote tags, so please don’t do that.

OK, but could this ATMB post be edited to so indicate? Because I’ve been violating this rule too, due to my incorrect reading of its intent.
Falsely attributing a quote to another user, or modifying another’s post in order to cast him/her in a bad light, even if meant in jest, is grounds for revocation of your posting privileges.
This does not apply to parodies to which no name is attached.
Text inside {QUOTE} tags is sacrosanct. Normal editorial rules apply: that is, you may indicate omitted portions of a quote by the use of ellipses “…” and you may add text to clarify a word using square brackets (e.g., “her [the sister’s] friend”), but you may not add editorial comments or edit a quote so as to change the substantive meaning; nor may you substitute text such as “some blather” or “more nonsense” inside the {QUOTE} tags.
To do a “quote=FinnAgainWake”, as I recently did in the Pit, neither falsely attributes the quote to another user, nor does it modify the material being quoted in any way. (Admittedly, I was guilty of low humor. Big surprise, huh?)
Maybe C K’s post should begin, “Modifying another’s post, or changing or modifying the poster’s username, in order to cast him/her…”
I think it was “The Liberal Rule” he was referring to. People kept changing his name to “Liberaltarian,” and a rule was instituted that you can’t change anyone’s user name. Not sure where it went to, I can’t find it anymore.

Not so much a rule as a guideline. Some people were being jerks about Lib changing his name. As I understand it, quote tags are sacrosanct, you can’t change the wording or by leaving things out, the meaning. Outside of quote tags, and especially in the pit, changing a poster’s name to make a point is allowed.
So, FinnAgain, in all seriousness: what is *your *definition of a troll?

Exactly. There’s no rule against changing someone’s username to mock them (in the Pit, at least). My note was only referring to the case of attributed quotes, where we ask that people not change the attribution field. To be fair, we’re not exactly fanatical about enforcing this, so I’m sure there have been many examples which have either flown under our radar or which we’ve decided are too minor to bother interrupting a thread with (e.g. RTFirefly’s use of FinnAgainWake, which is highly unlikely to be confused with anyone but FinnAgain.)
Also, sorry about the long delay in responding – I haven’t been online much this past week.
How’s your mama, finnagain? She miss me?
You bumped this thread for THAT? Sheesh.
