I Pit Hillary Clinton

I voted for her too. (And I voted for Bernie in the primary.) And I know damned well who was supporting trump–I don’t think all 59,698,506 people (or whatever the final number is) who voted for Trump are “alt-right” jack-booted fascists, but the KKK endorsed the man who is going to be our next President.

But apparently a bunch of progressives and liberals and Democratic voters couldn’t be bothered to go vote in order to prevent a man who was literally endorsed by the KKK from becoming President of the United States.

I seriously believe Hillary would have won if the Democrats would just abandon one single dead-horse issue: gun control. It was the specter of Hillary nominating justices that would flatly overturn Heller and McDonald and set the ideology of the SC for decades that made a lot of gun owners hold their nose and vote for Trump. A Hillary victory would have been an irreversible defeat, and gun owners are possibly the best politically mobilized special interest group in the nation.

So the takeaway is that voters that chose Trump would prefer someone who can’t control himself versus someone who can act like an adult despite whatever it is they’re personally feeling? I thought that’s how most people get through the work day. Hmm.

But thanks for the explanation, Bo. It makes about as much sense as when folks voted for the younger Bush simply because they thought he’d be cool to have a beer with, but at least it highlights a mindset of sorts. And as such, one that can be dealt with.

I think.

Now, jumping on to what Ramira has brought up, I think we should learn from low democratic turnout. When every poll and their dogs say that a win is in the bag, it’s imperative that we continue to encourage voters to get off their asses and cast a ballot. Probably too many felt it was unnecessary because landing the presidency was a foregone conclusion. So, we need to really stay on top of things and not assume.

This is important.

When polls reinforce the idea of the inevitability of your candidate, it suppresses voter turn-out.

When the media is totally on your team and not questioning your goals, your plan, your policies, but supporting your inevitability, it suppresses voter turn-out.

When your opponent is viewed as a clown side show and you don’t even try to get your message out, explain how your agenda is better than his, and really view it as a contest that needs to be won, it suppresses voter turn-out.

The next candidate of either party who thinks they have the election in the bag needs to remember this election and keep pushing until the very end as if every vote matters.

Hillary, in many ways, treated this election as a sporting event where running the time out on the game clock was the best strategy, it wasn’t.

Hillary made a lot of speeches to private rooms full of donors this year.

That isn’t campaigning so much as fund raising. Those speeches don’t make the news, which is where you need to be.

Also, more than a handful of Trumpies I personally know are STILL harping on those fucking EMAILS and STILL want Clinton arrested (for something or other). So we can thank Comey and the Republican Auxiliary (I mean the FBI) too, for their Sunday Morning “Bombshell”.

I’m a NAZIS?

Good new for me! Their uniforms ARE pretty snazzy (and you all know its true).

I have been looking to update my look. The scraggly unabomber theme just ain’t working for me like it used to.

it is important to recognize an error and I wished to do so.

This is not the lesson. The lesson is that negative arguments and non-charismatic, clumsy candidates do not win as they do not motivate. I read here on this board many many times about the great “ground game” of the Clinton campaign. I am sure it was very well organized in that management consulting fashion of abstraction. But it failed as the politics is about more than the characterless technocratic thinking.

She had not charisma and not any natural ability in this kind of politics. And did not have the ability to truly recognize this, that this was not her natural role - not as a woman but as her specific personality.

Wait a minute, I’m confused. Are you a robot, or not?

I’m a hermaphroditic sexbot. That’s why everyone tells me to go fuck myself.

Shodan

Do you like acting like an adult all the time? Do you have times at work where you just want to throw papers into the air and tell someone to go fuck themselves? Ever wanted to just grab your things and walk out of work for the day?

We all want to act that way, but we know we can’t. Mr. Trump has so much money that he CAN act like that; he’s not going to fire himself.

And this is where the eventual Constitutional crisis is going to come in: Mr. Trump has never worked for anyone else before. He thinks he’s our boss right now. He thinks we hired him to be in charge of us. Eventually, we’ll need to make oi clear to him that he works for us. That day is prolly not gonna be pretty.

I said it last February: stop trying to make Trump’s supporters make sense. They don’t, not to anyone but themselves. They are a mass of conflicting desires and pains and needs. The parallel you drew with W is accurate. It is necessary for the Democratic Party to understand the voters they didn’t reach, but trying to make them make sense is futile.

Very important point.

It’s unbelievable how complex this election was, but clearly Dems didn’t get people to leave the house. I’d say a lot that is because Mrs. Clinton is so widely hated. the Democratic Party machine should be nothing but migraines and upset stomachs now, but real soon there needs to be a written policy of “no promises to candidates more than 1 week before the convention”.

the Klan is holding their Victory parade in North Carolina on 3 December. be there, or be square.

GOP Shows White Supremacist’s Tweet During Trump’s Speech
The Republican National Convention displayed a tweet by a white-supremacist account during Donald Trump’s nomination acceptance speech on Thursday night.

The tweet, written by the account @Western_Triumph, appeared on four large screens in the Quicken Loans Arena Republican after the halfway mark during Donald Trump’s acceptance speech on Thursday night. It was one of a series of tweets by Twitter users that appeared in the hall that were curated by the Republican National Convention.

The tweet cited a line from Trump’s speech accepting the Republican nomination.

@Western_Triumph’s Twitter bio includes a series of white supremacist slogans as hashtags, including “#AltRight,” “#ProWhite,” and “#RaceRealist.” In other tweets, the account’s author advocates for apartheid and race segregation among other racist messages.

Donald Trump is breaking the white supremacist internet: Stormfront forced to upgrade servers to deal with Trump traffic surge

“Demoralization has been the biggest enemy,” Stromfront said of its recruitment, but "Trump is changing all that”

Politico reports that Stormfront, a website described as “a community of racial realists and idealists” on its homepage, sees a 30 to 40 percent spike in traffic whenever Trump spews his anti-immigrant or anti-Muslim bile. The site that hosts chat forums on a range of issues of interest for American racists, including a support group for teenagers looking to “come out” as White Nationalists and a forum that purports to offer the “truth about Martin Luther King,” already received a million unique visitors a month but credits Trump with its recent spike in traffic. Stormfront founder Don Black told Politico that Trump “has sparked an insurgency and I don’t think it’s going to go away.”

“Demoralization has been the biggest enemy and Trump is changing all that,” Black explained, predicting that Trump’s contribution to the national discourse will outlive his time in the spotlight, at least in white supremacist circles.
