I Pit jihadists everywhere, this time specifically in India

When I heard on the radio about a bombing at the Indian High Court in New Delhi my first thought was “India – Maoists or Islamists?” Sure enough, it’s the Islamists. 11 dead, 45 wounded.

And all for nothing.

Guys, why do you even bother?! We know what you all want, it’s no secret, bin Laden stated it plainly: A world war between the Islamic and Western worlds, that somehow would produce a new Islamic Caliphate, uniting all of Dar al-Islam from Morocco to Indonesia, that would be the world’s new superpower. It ain’t gonna happen. Pipedream. How could there be a Caliph both Shia and Sunni Muslims would accept? It would be like having a Pope of All Catholics and Protestants. Anyway, things like the Iranian Revolution of 1979 and the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan are not likely to happen in any Muslim countries in the future, too much has changed. There are revolutionary energies surging through the Islamic or at least the Arab world right now, but they’re not aiming at what you’re aiming at. Jihadism is a footnote. Accept it and go get drunk, you assholes.

:o Mods, please move thread to Pit, thank you.

Moved to the Pit.

Where’s your usual wit? This guy set you up with a lob right over the plate…

No, you can’t Pit them everywhere. Only in the Pit. Off you go!

Is there an asterisk for the Palestinian kind that you don’t mind, or…?

I don’t recall defending Palestinian terrorism. And Palestinian nationalism is a different movement than Salafist jihadism anyway.

Could I Pit them in a house?

Could I Pit them with a mouse?

We need a new word. Something that combines “ridiculous” and “asinine”. (For you, I mean, not for BG.)

Asdiculous, obviously.

Is “citizenpainedesque” already taken?

How can you possibly divorce Palestinian nationalism (the kind you were defending a few months back) from Palestinian terrorism?

Agggggggh.

Easy. Terrorism is not a movement, it is not a goal, it is a tactic. It automatically discredits anyone who uses it, but it does not automatically discredit any cause in which it is used.

And unlike many pro-Palestinians he does recognize Jerusalem should remain entirely in Israeli hands.

But a big hearty AMEN! to the OP.
