…coffee with sugar in it. This morning my boss sat her cup of coffee down next to mine - she takes it with sugar, I drink mine black - and a few minutes later I accidentally took a swallow from her cup. Yeech, argh, bleah, yuck, and barf! I’m not sure why the vile concoction of sugar and coffee is anathema to my taste buds, but it is. Now excuse me while I go lick the inside of a toilet bowl to kill the lingering taste. Pfaugh!!!

I don’t like coffee with sugar either. I prefer it with sweet 'n low and non-dairy creamer. Preferably amaretto although hazelnut will do in a pinch. I prefer my caffeine in the form of tea and rarely drink coffe though – if I want a hot caffeinated drink, it’s usually chai. God, how I love chai.

I used to drink coffee with sugar in it (whenever I drank coffee) then my dad said try it without sugar. I have never looked back. now sugared coffee is horrible.
I used to only drink coffee with cream/milk and sugar. Couldn’t imagine it any other way - for years that was the ritual. Loads of sugar and cream…it was almost syrup. Not surprisingly, I think it may have helped contribute to a little poundage-adding.
I started Atkins, and although they said no coffee for the induction period, I kew that if I did not have caffeine, the whole diet would be a train-wreck. So the deal I made with myself was that if I had coffee, I would only have it sans-sucre and with coffee-mate (cause you can measure and tell the carbs).
35 pounds later, I can’t even taste coffee with sugar or the pinl stuff or blue stuff. Just gross!! And I am now so addicted to Coffee Mate that I have trouble in restaurants that offer cream or milk.
(Side note - does anyone else have a cat that loves Coffee Mate? My little wierdo just ADORES the stuff and howls until he gets his little treat and unless I lock it up, he will knock the bottle over and lick it up…)
My dad used to drink it witrh cream and sugar - that’s how I started. He stopped the sugar, now I did too. He’s now on to decaf, but I think that’s the road down which the infidel lives. NEVER!!
Wow, me too!! To me, it makes it taste oddly “burnt” or something. I can’t quite describe it, but eeeeuuuuwwww eeeewwwwwwww. I like mine black, and only occasionally like it with cream. But never ever sweeteners.
You grind the beans. You effect a grounds/hot water interface of your choosing. (French press, drip, percolater, etc.) What you get is coffee. Anything else is adulterated coffee. Coffee with sugar (or cream, or Jamesons, or whatever) is no more coffee than a vodka collins is vodka. Just sayin’
