I Pit my inconsiderate peanut-feeding neighbors

And come design the landscape for my front yard.

Can do. You like peanut shell mulch, right? I like to cut out the middle man and the bitching with one common design element.

It’s nice when threads come around like this, where otherwise easily forgettable posters suddenly become “that weird asshole from the peanut shell thread” and you make a mental note to yourself.

Any chance of a picture of this peanut defiled lawn

Forget the lawn. If you send pics, make them of tits.

If this is a “pics or it didn’t happen” scenario, bear in mind that the OP could himself scatter some peanut shells on his own lawn and then take a photo. What we really need is video footage of the neighbors feeding the birds, and the birds dropping the shells on his lawn.

Until then, I think it’s wise to view this whole “peanuts shells on my lawn” tale as a bit of self-aggrandizing fiction or a ploy for sympathy. The OP may even attempt to solicit donations for lawn care or pest control, and claim to have a life-threatening peanut allergy. We’ve seen this story a million times before.

Those Nigerians are getting craftier and craftier. I like how they threw in “Texas Roadhouse” to make is seem like they were posting from the U.S.

Bastards!

Nah, just wait until you see the neighbors giving out the peanuts, and then shoot them with the BB gun - really not fair to take it out on the squirrels.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to hit a peanut with a BB gun?

Sure, as long as:

  1. You’re not married to that maroon color scheme.
  2. You fend off the wife yourself if she starts chasing you for scattering shells. She’ll probably have the pellet gun at this point. The upside: It’s slow to load, so you’ve probably got a good 30 seconds to a minute between dodging shots. The downside: You’re going to get hit just about every time. (see below)
  3. Salutations, Opal!
  4. If it’s as sweet a layout as you envisioned for ladyfoxfyre, you’re the artist.
  5. Being an artist, you understand all work is temporary, and I’m going to mow next week.

If they’re still in the shell, it’s almost easy with the right scope.

Nah just curious.

I should do an “Ask the former landscaper” thread. I refused to design any garden to match the trim, used native grasses extensively both to save water and because if the weed trimmer accidentally strayed a little, so what, and nearly always stuck with native flora or closes cousins of same in order to reduce the chemicals and water necessary to support exotics. I spent years wondering who in the world thought matchy-matchy rows of alternating shrubs was a good look, then I realized it’s people like the OP who employ straight lines and symmetry in a futile attempt to order the outdoors. When your yard appears to be designed by Leggo, a peanut shell or two will wreck your little tableaux. Gotta manufacture your own recreational outrage I guess.

I’m not a particular fan of “match-matchy rows of alternating shrubs,” but I can tell you that any landscaper who refused to plant what I wanted simply because it conflicted with his own artistic vision of what a yard ought to be wouldn’t be my landscaper for very long.

Then again, you did say “former landscaper.”

Works both ways. Wouldn’t want my name associated with cheap or bad landscapimg, either. But I never declined a job pit style, just explained thaty style was to mimic the natural environment and let the potential clients make the decision. If I had ever run into anyone who complained about neighbors feeding the birds and small creatures, I would have laughed out loud and been fired before hired, to my great relief.

So, regarding peanuts.
Is shell being used as a noun or verb?
Does a shelled peanut have a shell or not?

my memory isn’t what it used to be so I write down those “mental” notes. but yes, asshole is not too strong a word.

Diji Adebayo? Didn’t he live down the road, near the 7-Eleven? Can’t say I’ve heard of Skye bank though. You sure that’s him?

Hmmm. Shelled corn is corn removed from the cob, if that’s any help.

Dafuq? I’ve never heard of “shelled corn.” Shucked corn, yes - is that what you meant?

And to me and mine, a “shelled peanut” is one that has been relieved of its shell and is now naked and ready for noms.

At Snead’s Feed and Seed, shelled corn is dry corn minus the cob. Seriously, the corn we buy to feed wildlife is all labeled “shelled corn”.
