Nope. My father had a family with two kids before my mom, but his initials are CMC jr. Consider yourself lucky it’s not him. And he never lived in Tucson.
Believe me, everyone… violent scenarios have been considered. However, I have my own kids to think about and I’d like to shield them from violence as much as I can.
Is this tempting? Yes. Deserved? Quite possibly. Sensible? That’s a much harder call. After all, once the beating has been delivered, the beater has gone, and the mother is still in the situation. And who do you think will suffer the retribution for the attack?

My mom took my brother and I and moved away from my father, leaving him in Tucson. Things improved tremendously (physically) for us when we moved a large distance (between us and him). I suggest the same for your family and your mom.
Retaliatory violence is really not a long term answer, but it seems you already know that.
