I pit over-the-top Anti-Trump hysteria

America is not a country that loves, or even likes, children. It grieves me to say that, but it’s been true for a long time.

Karoline Leavitt is on the call-it-all-hysteria team:

Amid the hysteria, we must remember how we got here, to this moment today, and what this Democrat opposition is about.

Former President Joe Biden and the Democrats opened America’s borders for four years, inviting tens of millions of illegal aliens from all over the world to flood into our country …

The author of “American Psycho” (clearly an authority on well-adjustedness) scolds us for being hysterical about Trump in 2019.

Noam Chomsky comforts Epstein – the haters are just hysterical, it’ll all blow over (from 2019)

What august company to be in!

I bet that sounded better in your head.

And yet we remain at loggerheads with the rest of NATO, with Iran, have already carried out a regime change on Venezuela, and are threatening various other countries on a weekly basis, and your response is “Yeah, but there hasn’t been a nuclear war yet, hyuk hyuk!”

Based on your posts, your plan remains to say anything that allows you to pretend you’re right, “real crimes that Trump actually committed” be damned.

“If we look at the three things they’ve failed at and ignore all the ways they are succeeding in undermining democracy, clearly they’re failing at everything!”

What makes you think we’ve seen their “best efforts”?

There’s quite a lot to suggest that the right have learned their lessons from 2020-2021 and have been actively working to remove all the guardrails. I mean, the FBI just raided election offices in Georgia this week. But please keep pretending.

Because they’ve got different people in place now?

“We need to fight the last war rather than learn from it.”

Your “might hypothetically happen” deliberately downplays the evidence that there is a significant likelihood of worse things happening. And some of us would like to stop them before they happen.

My eyes and ears detect people breaking the law for Trump on a daily basis in ways up to and including murder. Why don’t yours? Is it because of the location of your head?

Well, there’s are some nice little pogroms currently going on against immigrants and trans people and the active erosion of rights and protections for minorities and women, but on the other hand there’s you saying “Hey, things won’t get that bad” which is probably a great comfort to those populations.

That funny, because that’s what we’re saying to you.

You mean Noam “Steven Bannon’s Best Bud” Chomsky?

That’s the one!

ETA: Fun fact, both of these guys are my neighbors.

I’m so sorry

It’s not like they actually hang out with the common folks, so I haven’t had to encounter either. But thank you.

I never would have figured Chomsky to be this big of a scumbag.

Sorry to break it to you.

Why not both? I don’t understand why you read this as an either or. Let’s prosecute him for the crimes he’s already committed as one attempt to prevent him from committing additional crimes. (I think the supreme Court gave him a “get out of prosecution free” card already, though, so i don’t expect the protections to get a lot of traction.)

Yup.

Uh-huh.

And what do you propose we do about any of that, besides surrendering to hopelessness?

That’s your disingenuous spin. Nobody has even remotely suggested surrendering to hopelessness.

If your purpose here is to direct people away from caring about the very real danger Trump represents, and towards your constant rewording and outright lying about what others are saying over and over again then, yes, you are succeeding.

Uh huh.

So what do you propose we do about any of that?

Why bother telling you stuff you’ve no doubt heard before, when you are just here to lie about it and create straw men to attack?

So you got nothing, then.

Why bother giving you anything, when you only ignore it or lie about it? It’s your flaming hoop-You jump through it.

I’ve already stated what I think we need to be doing.

You’ve got nothing to offer but doom and despair.
