Allies listen to trans voices speak of how the government has allowed for the policing of their bodies, the killing of their culture, and the loss of their freedom and allies say “that’s disgusting and immoral”

If the word genocide seems to big for you, then maybe you need to broaden your understanding of what these people represent, and how they have been impacted. The US University system, once the goal of the best students anywhere, has taken serious damage. The top Chinese students are going to stay in China, not come here. Even if we change our rules to welcome them again, they won’t know people here, and are unlikely to want to come.
The police apparently didn’t need a warrant to break down our doors any longer.
Whole urban economies are dying because their employees and customers are afraid they’ll be “mistaken” for illegal aliens and hauled off to distant holding cells.
NATO doesn’t trust us. None of our former allies trust us. Trust takes time to rebuild. If we did this once, what’s to stop us from doing it again in 4 years?

Speaking of not listening, I have repeatedly said I don’t expect that everybody agrees with me, much less require it.
Personally, I think trans people deserve the same rights as everyone else and I’d like to see their civil rights guaranteed.
But if I met a trans-hating asshole who said he was going to vote against the Republicans because he didn’t like the way Trump was ignoring the Second Amendment, I’d shake that asshole’s hand and tell him he’s doing the right thing.
