Ok I thought it was an anomoly during the first game of the World Series. Before they announced the starting line up they were anouncing the bat boys, club house managers etc…etc…and the crowd was booing some of these guys. WTF? Why?
The crowd was also booing the Cards as they came on the field. Come on now! Have some decency! [ I mean I know we are talking about Sox fans, who have been waiting an aweful long time for this, but jeez folks, don’t act like cry babies when you don’t get it, then act like magnanimous fools when you do!]
This would certainly not happen in New York. I’ve been to many Yankee games where the crowd didn’t boo the oncoming team…Get over yourselves Sox fans, your acting like a group of spoiled cub scouts who finally made it into the regatta after having been beat by the den across town.
So sit down, enjoy your glory while it lasts, and for the love of OG Shut the Fuck Up when the opposing team comes on the field! I knew you all were unprofessional but this is just plain childish!

Fools showing or suggesting a lofty and courageous spirit?
Anyway, yeah, I noticed the booing of some of the coaches and trainers too, and was wondering, WTF? Do they boo the hot dog vendors? Do they boo Santa Claus, the way Phillies fans famously did a gew years ago?
Now, see if I were a Sox fan, I’d save my boos for the team for committing eight(!) errors in the space of two games, or for Mueller for being the source of half of them, or for Manny Ramirez just for being his usual showboating, hotdogging, foot-shooting asshole self.
Not that baseball fans have to be respectful, but there is a certain unspoken demeanor that the sox fans routinely break at their home field. As a Yankee fan, I sometimes even have a hard time with the bleacher creatures…but in Boston, they all seem to be obnoxious, even towards their own team.
I have tickets to game 6 should it go that far [Oh god please let it go that far, and please let them get trounced] - and I am actually not looking forward to the experience…If anyone else is there, look for the guy in the black North Face with the Yankee cap on
Noooo, of course not.
And of course, folks have misinterpreted the appearance of cops in riot gear at Game 6 of the Sox-Yanks series. That was just to protect the sensitive and delicate Yankee Stadium fans from the nasty, brutish Sox players.
When I was a Baltimore fan, I thought Boston and Yankee fans were one step below dog turds…
Now that the Orioles have a Peter as an owner, I’ve stopped watching baseball… but Boston and Yankee fans are still one step below dog turds… BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOG!
The only Sox guy who was booed in the introductions was Dale Sveum, the third-base coach, who deserved it. He’s had a very noticeable number of guys thrown out at home.
Well this is a new tack from Yankees fans. May I remind them that for the first part of the season they were booing Derek fucking Jeter of all people. The hardest playing guy in baseball. Not to mention the booing of A-Rod and most of the Yankee pitching staff. The Sox fans booed only one person Dale Sveum, who has consistently cost runs by his decisions at third base. If I were there I would not have booed him, but I can understand why they did it.
As for exploiting the death of the woman in Boston as a way to slur the city and their fans you can kindly go fuck yourself. It was a tragedy that countless cities have seen repeated after sports victories. I would bet that even New York has seen people die as offshoots of celebrations related to sports victories. It appalls me that anyone would die as a result of something so unimportant as a baseball game, it is not, however, unique to Boston.
Philosphr, I never had you pegged for such a myopic, petty sports fan.
