That’s what I said. Time and station. You have a very bad habit of not reading what people actually write.
Your just mad because everything I’ve said about Biden and the VP is true and you don’t want me to come back to those threads to have to admit I was right. Don’t worry, I’ve browsed those threads and won’t be responding. I don’t deal with wishful thinking, I’m a realist.
It’s easier to attack me and get a rise from the board, to make you feel good, but people like you are why we are going to be stuck with Trump as president.
I’ve being trying to tell this board for years now what is happening.
Really, reread what you wrote and compare to my clarification. There is a difference.
As in listened to WNEW-FM from 7:00am to 7:50am
Not just WNEW-FM for an hour.
I understand what you are saying I just am saying that you are moving the goal posts from
- Right wing disinformation didn’t start until after 9/11
- to OK Rush Limbaugh did it back in the 90’s but nobody paid attention to him until after 9/11,and no body would buy a book he published in 1993s,
- to OK he was household name in the 90’s and his 93 book was a best seller but he got even bigger after 9/11
While still providing no evidence that his influence in the 2000s was in any way greater than it was in the 90’s, and furthermore not acknowledging that even if it were the case, his immense popularity in the 90’s undercuts the primary reason we got into this mess vis a vis your claim that sewing misinformation didn’t start until 9/11.
“For how long” does not remove the possibility of writing a specific duration of time.
OK, I was just clarifying. I did read what you wrote.
I think the main point I was auguring is that he wasn’t huge until after 9/11. I’m agreeing that he was there in the 90’s and had a NYT best seller, which kind of means nothing. There are plenty of NYT best sellers that most people never heard of, like my YouTube point which was dismissed as apples and oranges but is right on point.
I’m talking about the overall culture; he didn’t get huge in the culture until post 9/11.
Limbaugh was another generations YouTube star, until 9/11 when he crossed over and got huge.
Let me put it another way. Run-Dmc were huge in the black population, but most never heard of them until they did that cover with Aerosmith. So the weren’t really huge in the culture until that happened.
You’ve presented no cite to justify this claim. You’re just wildly factually incorrect. Limbaugh’s peak was the 90s. That’s when Al Franken wrote a bestselling book just making fun of Limbaugh.
He was he was the top rated radio program, regarding his fame wikipedia points to the 90’s as his time of peak popularity, he was on the cover of mad magazine and a reference to his followers was in a collectable card game about the conspiracy theories and media power dynamics in the 90s. You may not have heard of him back then but to everyone else he was a household name.
Are you at least going to make an attempt at backing up your claims, or are you somehow totally allergic to the idea of supporting evidence?
Hahahahaha.
Haha.
Ahem, guys, clearly all of this ‘evidence’ of Limbaugh having done anything before 9/11 has been planted on the internet by the same people who scrubbed the internet of evidence that Rice made said statement.
And that is political wonks as I’ve said.
That took a hard search to find using certain keywords, which people don’t really do now. Any normal search on Rice will not bring this article up or if it does come up will be 10 pages back.
Really just put Condoleezza Rice into a search engine.
“His syndicated broadcast is heard daily by 1.3 million people, nearly twice as many as hear No. 2, Talknet’s advice guru Bruce Williams.” – Giselle Benatar in Entertainment Weekly, 8 February 1991
Wow, you mean you have to search for specific keywords when using search engines in order to find the specific information you are looking for? Josh, it was so much easier back in the day before the internet scrubbers went to work when you could just think what you wanted to find, and your search engine would read your mind in order to find it.
You all hide behind your pretentious bullshit and engage in wishful thinking presented as fact. Good luck in the next years, and people like you are why we will be subject to Trump and Maga.
A big fuck you to you all clowns.
Split-
Not sure why you keep trying to change peoples minds here. You should just give up.
Edited to state I am not a clown.
No, it is people in MAGA hats that are why we might be subject to Trump and Maga. Trump is extremely dangerous and the Democrats are as usual, not all that well organized and effective. It is very scary.
But you don’t help whatever case you’re making by by your weird arguments in this thread.
