I Pit Split_p_j

I shouldn’t respond to this but here is his quote. He doesn’t come right out and say my links are bots but says they could be bought subs. If that is the case, no one should be allowed to link to any youtube channel.

My point stands, I never see that when other youtubers have been linked here. He is saying the channels linked here by other posters are legit, no push back on bought subs for them.

Mine are fake though, bought because of some metric he made up.

Once again fuck off asshole.

It’s not made up*, and you’re the one who was citing “number of subscribers” as a way to measure “this Youtuber has a lot of people listening to him.”

*- Edit: for what it’s worth, I work in advertising, and deal with clients’ social media accounts all the time. We repeatedly run into situations where the client clearly bought subscribers, which is evident when they have a crap-ton of followers, but very few likes/reshares on their posts. In other words, an industry professional is telling you it’s not “some metric he made up.”

You’re welcome!

If I wanted to say “bots” and not “bought subs” I’d have fucking said it.
Stop putting your fucking words in other peoples mouths.

No fuckwit. Your entire point was the number of subs the channel has.

No one is linking to Beau and saying that the number of subs he has validates what he’s saying so why would there be any push back?

Oh fuck what are we talking about here? That is how YouTube measures things, not me, that is why they give out the play button plaques.

So now we can’t trust that because it doesn’t work for you even though that is how creators on the platform itself are measured.

Wow truly delusional here.

I think you’re forgetting something. Ripped nightgown previously stated that he doesn’t believe in experts if they draw conclusions that disagree with him. So the fact that you are an industry professional just means you’re part of the conspiracy.

Doubt everything and everyone that doesn’t match your previously-drawn conclusion.

And this is why I don’t engage in discussions with this lunatic and haven’t for quite some time.

Everyone looks at the number of subs, the links here don’t need to say it, it’s implied in the posts. He is taken as an authority by some on this board. I brought up sub count to say there are other channels with similar or more subs which back my points up.

That is how one thing (those plaques) is measured. How do people actually make money on YouTube? It’s driven by views and interactions (clicks): ads that run before or during their videos, product placements, selling merch, etc.

If a theoretical YouTuber had 1 million subscribers, but their videos were only averaging 10,000 views and 1000 likes, that would tell you that the vast majority of their subscribers aren’t actually, y’know, watching that creator’s stuff.

Linking to a Yahoo search on the words “Condoleezza Rice” isn’t a cite. And she’s not 9 foot 11 inches either.

Ooh! projection!

This quote is taken out of context of course, I don’t have a formal typing style, I flow with the conversation. I make no apologies for this snippet of a conversation.

May I suggest you educate yourself on the difference between imply and infer?

Why do you keep bringing up bots? I’m not really seeing them much (if any) in other people’s posts.

So going back to nitpicking again. I’m not really tech savvy, he said the subs are bought, I say he was saying bots. It’s all the same thing as to mean fake. He is saying my links have fake numbers.

He is auguring that YouTube is based on views for individual videos, I’m saying it’s based on subscribers.

That’s why the creators on YouTube always say subscribe and like. the like is for the algorithm so their videos keep getting recommended to you, the subscribe is for the clout.

Places like tick tock go by number of video views. I’m like 52 years old and I know this fucking clowns.

No wonder you are being left behind.

No. No, he isn’t. He’s saying “subscribers alone aren’t a good measure of how much actual reach a YouTuber’s message has, because one can buy subscribers, and many social media content creators have done that.”

I’m 59 years old, and I work in the damned industry.

Out.

If only we had a YouTuber on the board, an Eater of All, a Nuclear Crustacean if you would, with nearly 1,000,000 subs, which is more important; subs or views (and engagement).

I’m a subscriber for someone on YouTube and I haven’t watched a single thing by them since they helped me learn how to play my first Zelda game many years ago.

Well, I know you are full of shit, because it’s not an industry per se. That’s why some of the biggest car youtubers have left their sites and went on their own. Hacks like you tried to move in and stifle the creativity.

People like you are no longer the gate keepers, hack fuck.

And you are out of touch, your anecdote doesn’t really mean anything.

Who to believe, a trusted longtime poster?

Or the guy who has demonstrated in previous threads that he has a tenuous grip on reality and that his cites never say what he claims or actually prove his point?

I gotta think about this.

The advertising industry, as I already noted. Where we actually, you know, buy ad space on YouTube, which is the primary vehicle for YouTubers to make money. And that money is based on actual views, not subscribers, for the reasons I already stated.
