I pit the TV Networks. Or maybe the NFL. Or maybe you.

50/50 shot and you missed it.

Eagles fan.

That’s the story of my life, Bubba.

Story of my life…

Arrgh, I’m also annoyed by this game. As a Bills fan, I was startled to see a promo for it on TV, where it was announced that football fans should tune in at 8 to see The New England Patriots; by Grace of God; holy and apostolic; who have fought with the Balrog of Morgoth from the lowest dungeon to the highest peak; awarded the Triple Cross for meritorious conduct, extraordinary valor, and conspicuous bravery against Wicked Witches; the few, the happy few, this band of brothers; and personally responsible that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth by doing that voodoo that they do so well …

and then, with the low and rapid style usually reserved for prescription drug commercials where they list possible side effects including anal leakage, [sub]vs. the Bills[/sub].

Why can’t the NFL pretend we don’t know the outcome of a game that hasn’t been played yet?

I actually think the Bills have a chance. If nothing else, there is no way that the Patriots can cover that 16-point spread. Besides, you’ve got Tim Russert on your side (sorry, I just finished watching Meet the Press), so there’s at least one person at NBC rooting for the Bills.

Mark down December 9th and January 20th as dates that you won’t want to miss. First the Steelers will break the streak, then in January they’ll break your heart. Tell Bellichick to get his videocamera and police scanner ready, he’s going to need it.

January 20th? Kinda late in the season for the Steelers. don’t you think? Seriously. But I’ll tell you this much: the only bet I’d make on 12/9 is the over. You guys play us well. I’ll grant you that.

As a Bills fan I’m telling you to go to hell on general principles!

I suppose this isn’t the place for me to pop in and mention that my son and I finagled 30 yard line tickets to see the Packers beat Carolina at Lambeau field in beautiful 40 degree sunshine? No? I thought not.

I’m in total agreement with the OP. I prefer football in the afternoon. I can deal with night games if they’re scheduled ahead of time. But changing the schedule stinketh. I also hate it when they reschedule college football games to 11:00 in the morning to accommodate TV. It makes it difficult to get in the proper tailgating frame of mind.

Wanna bet?

I never bet on sports. Besides, I’m doing pretty good otherwise ATS this week in the SDMB league.
