Unfortunately, we didn’t need an ethical paragon. What we needed, and what HRC could have been as well as anyone else, was someone to hold their finger in the dam, so to speak, and keep SCOTUS at least divided at worst, or move it in a progressive direction at best, and defend the progress that has been made. Now we don’t have that, in face of an impending avalanche of SCOTUS vacancies; those vacancies will not be filled by Jill Stein (as if), but by Donald Trump and a Republican controlled Senate.
And how’s that working out so far?
I am curious why you didn’t consider Johnson/Weld. Arguably Weld has done more concrete things for the LGBT community than any of the other candidates. They were both actual Governors and Weld made gay marriage legal well ahead of the majority of the nation.
Well they had plans. And those plans were upset. And so now they’re upset. And it’s your fault for them running a campaign that didn’t give two shits about the blue collar workers and middle class. Groups that Obama did bother to say “Hi!” to and won twice.

As bad as the US is, only a full-fledged social democracy like Germany would elect a chief executive who wants to ban religious attire. I’m glad the US is not as “progressive” as the Euro shitholes.
Your main complaint seems to be that we elected a Republican and not Trump in particular. As far as Republicans go, Trump at least has some chance of breaking from Republican orthodoxy on the issue of Supreme Court nominations.
It’s amazing to think that with all the antipathy and apathy, she lost with popular vote lead of more than 2M.

It’s not really surprising at all. Look, the D’s ignored the middle ground states and the middle class. They chased minorities, trannies and any other “oppressed” they could find along with the elites.
Surprise, these people (while I am sure they are all fine individuals) do NOT make up the majority of the people in the US. And in point of fact, even if they are LGBTWTFBBQMOUSE they STILL aren’t going to behave like a mouse in a maze chasing a piece of cheese. They’re not going to perform for the DNC because it pretends to care like a fucking monkey on a string.
You know what I saw in SoCal on the bridge over the I-5 near Sea World the weekend before the election? A crowd of people holding up “Vote Trump” signs (which amazed me because SoCal)… and here’s the important part, one of them was a young gentlemen waving a rainbow colored sign that said “GAYS FOR TRUMP!”
I am not making that shit up. The DNC needs to stop thinking they “own” the votes of the gays or anyone else. They need to approach the next election not counting on anyone as being in their pocket. That’s what Trump did, and it fucking worked.
The second point I’d like to make is that between gary Johnson and Jill Stein, they abso-fucking-lutely cost HRC the presidency. They went from something around 1.2M total votes last cycle to around 6M votes this time around. Given they were going to keep the ones from the last cycle, that’s still a 400% increase in new voters for them.
400%.
Four. Hundred. Percent. In one cycle. Holy fucknuts Batman. The DNC’s chosen one actually managed to not only NOT get the votes Obama got, she managed to drive MILLIONS of people off into the Libertarian/Green wilderness. It’s staggering.
They need to take the lesson to heart. The “darling” of the DNC leadership should NOT be given a gigantic fucking head start on the rest of the field, in effect subverting the process and making it a coronation. To do so, is to field an inherently flawed candidate who exists in a bubble and cannot exist (or win) outside of that bubble.
And if you don’t believe me, consider that she lost to a living bobblehead FFS. That’s how bad she was.
