I agree about the name- Cillit Bang is indeed a very daft name for a cleanng product. It does clean my bathroom and kitchen with minimal effort though.
There’s also a very funny email going around with a mashed up techno version of the Cillit Bang advert " Bang and the dirt is gone, b-b-b-bang and the dirt, b-b-b-bang and the dirt, b-b-b- bang and the dirt is gone!"
Hard to believe, I know, but Clit Band and Cif are actual cleaning products. The whole “Jif (as in jiffy meaning quickly) becomes Cif (as in - WTF?)” rebranding episode was bad enough, but when I first saw a Slit Bong ad I honestly thought it was for some sort of comedy show. The combination of the name with the ‘rejected by Home Shopping Network’ vibe of the packaging and production values somehow combines to make my brain liquefy.
