I use #4711.
I love that stuff.

Eau de Mercota
Special blue Swix ski wax
Obsession Cologne for Men by Calvin Klein. My wife likes it, and I can’t smell anything, so I go with that.
La Nuit de l’Homme, Yves Saint Laurent.
On any given day, Irish Spring soap with a side of either wet dog or dusty horse.
It keeps my skin nice and scaly.
I can’t even blame the horse.
But I’m with you on the Irish Spring. That’s all the scent I have.
Grafton by Truefitt and Hill.
It’s a light, fresh, barbershop fougere. More like an after-shower spray.
Usually just whatever my deodorant is. For special occasions, Thierry Mugler’s “Alien.”
What is it with ‘Irish Spring’ soap?
I don’t mind the aroma but every man uses it.
I’ve actually washed my hands in it and it’s very drying. I hope y’all are moisturizing.
I live in the land of moist. No need to add more.
I use Dial.
Main scents are Sandalwood, Cedar/Frankincense, Fir in beard oils and balms.
I used to buy it in my 20s because it was dirt cheap. Still is.
Bay Rum scented beard balm, and sawdust.
Mr. Wrekker slices a piece of a bar of Irish Spring and puts it under his truck seat.
So now his truck smells like Cigar, fish camp and old man mixed with the soap. Mmmm.
Homemade, with rubbing alchohol, cinnamon sticks and cloves.
99 percent of the time, no scent at all, other than what might be on my clothes from laundry soap.
On special occasions, Aqua Velva.
On really special occasions, Drakkar Noir.
When I was in high school, I had a couple of aunts whose usual Christmas/birthday gifts were bottles of scent. Without even trying, acquired a rather large collection. In college, I noticed that I received far more compliments from the ladies when I wore cheap supermarket aftershave, than when I wore expensive designer-label colognes. So I chucked most of them, and now I have a 20-year-old bottle of Aqua Velva, and a 30-year-old bottle of Drakkar Noir, neither of which I ever expect to finish.
Many common soaps strip off the skin’s natural oils. I use something different.
Scents for me come from soap, hair cream, deodorant, and after shave.
For soap I use a goat’s milk soap base with nothing added. It’s used by folks who make their own soap but I just use the bulk bar, cut in half. I use that for my hair too. And also for shaving.
To control my hair I use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shaping Cream. It has a mild, pleasant fragrance. This was recommended here on the Dope years ago, and it’s been working very well.
For deodorant it’s Old Spice original formula*. I’ve been using that since I was a kid.
For after shave it’s Nivea for men post shave balm. That’s it, no cologne.
* — I avoid using deodorants with aluminum chlorhydrate. There is a possible connection with aluminum and Alzheimer’s — that has been debated for years.
