Soap

Alrighty, I know I’m new and nobody knows me and bla bla bla… but I’m going out on a limb here and starting my first thread (Yay me!).

I love soap. Like, absolutely LOVE soap. I use a soap from a company based out of England called “Lush” (www.lushcanada.com). Hand made, natural ingredients (such as apple juice, etc.)… well, I guess all I’m wondering is what kind of soap everybody else uses. Hey, it could be interesting… you never know… or it could just suck. =)

Either way, I’ll take responsibility.

So? Got Soap?

Soap? I hate it. It’s disgusting. Gets all lathery and slippery and its supposed to go all over your body like that.

::shudder::

Personally, I just hose down in the backyard once a week to knock the big splotches of dirt off me.

Don’t even get me started on shampoo. That makes me feel nausueated.

Tone. It’s lathery, nondrying and cheap, and I am told (though I have no sense of smell meself) that it smells nice

I like Lever.

When I was a kid, I said “Shit!” once and my mother stuck a bar of Ivory in my mouth. Does that count too?

Irish Spring Sport is the bomb. you get clean and you smell good… what more can a guy want in a soap?

on the girly front, body shop (body works? i don’t know the difference) has a soap called Satsuma that drives me totally nuts. i used to go into the bathroom just to smell it in the air after one of my housemates who used Satsuma got out of the shower. they finally bought me a couple bars but i can’t bring myself to open them. i just keep em in strategic locations around my place for when i need a sniff to brighten my day.

Ivory tastes good to me. i don’t know why it does, but whenever i happen to be showering with it (it’s my backup for when i’m in a hick town that doesn’t have a store that carries Irish Spring Sport), i always get a little in my mouth “on accident.”

I love body shop’s liquid soaps, especially oceanus. The regular stuff just dries my skin out.

Our water here is heavily laden with minerals, so I like Tone. It doesn’t seem to dry me out quite as badly, although I have to get it rinsed off pretty quickly, or it feels like it’s left a film on my skin.

I’m a Dove girl. It’s the only one that doesn’t dry me out (thank you Accutane).

And personally, I prefer soap that doesn’t make me vomit.

Ever since it was recommended for the antibacterial properties of Triclosan for cleaning new body piercings, I have used, and absolutely LOVED the smell of Liquid Dial. I buy the big gallon bottle at Costco and refill all the small dispensers in our home.

Same with me, except I accidentally get Dove in my mouth…
What’s wrong with us?

I adore dove, it’s just so soft and mousturizing, I dunno why I love it, I just do. Though I can’t account for taste.

Kitty

I use Jergens aloe this week. Not only was it on sale but it leaves my skin oh so silky smooth.

Another vote fer Irish Sping!

I use Kama Sutra’s Clove Body wash.

I, too, love soap. I’m planning on attempting to make my own.

Freaks, man. we’re freaks. that’s all there is to it. you’ve got a big time post party coming up though, so it’s okay.

Yay, I always love it when posters cross new frontiers of the mundane and pointless. Larmal, m’dear, you are Lewis, Clark, and Sacajawea rolled into one! Welcome to our world.

I like Lush too, except I can’t smell anything else for an hour after going in there. Dove wins on the creamy moisturising factor and means I can still smell.

Oh and welcome to the board.

I’m another fan of Dove. The only trouble with it is that it goes mushy too easily.

I love their Cedar Soap from Scotland. It’s a very soft scent. On my last visit to the city, they told me they weren’t going to carry it anymore so I bought the last eight bars they had.
Once that’s gone, I guess I’ll go back to Calgon’s, In The Rain Body Gel.

I buy an obscure brand from the Paper Street Soap Company.
