Not enough vitriol for the Pit, and of course there are idiots in all political parties so I’m not singling out his particular party, and since of course this isn’t the Pit let’s keep the language family-friendly…
Synopsis – this guy is running for local (Syracuse, NY) city council, had to turn in a petition with a few hundred names in order to get his name on the ballot under his party, and his petition came up exactly one name short.
Punch line – he forgot to sign his own petition. His own signature would’ve made the difference.

He will appear on the ballot, just not under the party he purports to represent. While he appears confident that voters will find (and vote for) him, I can’t help but think there will be some who think he’s changed parties or something like that.
