I pit "web chat" sales agents & their scripts

Currently I have FiOS and my two year commitment is ending. This will cause the loss of some promotions and my bill will go up by $30.00

I can sign a new two year agreement for a $15.00 increase per month, get a $120 gift card and have my internet speed increase.

Before I agreed to this I tried to contact Comcast to get a quote through their online chat. I told Ramathing (real name from web chat) what I am looking for and he/she starts to sell me a package. but doesn’t tell me what is in it.

I ask him? to compare the plans and he starts telling me about the X1 Platform., XFINITY On Demand, Constant Guard®. and fast downloads.

I again ask him to compare plans and he posts a link so I can see what channels are on each plan.

After I tell him which plan I want pricing on he asks if I want to order it. I tell him I need more information and ask about the DVR prices. He gives me the price then again asks if I want to order.

He then gives me the prices of the DVR and I ask another question to make sure the features are comparable. After answering me he asks again if I want to process the order.

Based on the chat I think Verizon will give me the better deal so I’m staying with them and singing another 2 year deal.

Main thing I noticed is you’re wanting to record 6 at a time and all he’s offering is 3. And yes, he’s reading off a script and seemingly not answering your questions very well.

Why on earth would they request your social? I never give that out.

Credit check, and also possibly to see if he’s a previous customer that has an outstanding balance.

This is what bugs me about web chat agents:

Right. I think if I said ok order it they would then do a credit check. I don’t think they did a check when I gave it to them because they didn’t ask.

Also my credit has been compromised so many times (I have fraud alerts) that I’m no longer worried about who has my #
