I probably just completely screwed myself, but oh well.

So I registered at ebay. I never thought I’d do that. But I was browsing around today, as I sometimes do, and I came across a complete SNES (hookups and everything, two controllers) with four games. There were no bids on the item, so I read the description. Blah, blah, blah, four games, three titles I’m so not interested that I can’t even remember them, then… I saw it.

The Legend of Zelda.

I have been saying for months, MONTHS, how badly I’d love to have my Super Nintendo back with the Legend of Zelda. I loved that game! Rather than bidding, I used the Buy It Now feature.

I probably just totally screwed myself. I can definitely see me becoming an ebay junkie which sucks, but I couldn’t help myself. I need that game. I came so close to beating it before I lost the use my SNES. I feel like me and ol’ Link have some unfinished business.

I’m so excited!

You’ve got me on the edge of my seat: how much did you pay for it??

I bought a SNES during my final semester of Grad School, strictly to play Zelda. Bad Idea. (It very nearly became my penultimate semester instead…) We moved away before I finished the game. A few months later I had a weekend marathon while my wife was out of town (why, what do YOU do when your spouse is away?) and the unit overheated and died. So, I still haven’t finished the darned game.

I while back I saw Zelda-whatever-it-is on the N64. Sheesh, waaaay tooo complicated for the likes of me. These damn kids and their 3D graphics…

zelda-junkie-'vark

I could never finish LoZ. I got so far, near the end, and then I discovered Secret of Mana (and my cousin kept erasing my games when he came over, so I stopped letting him play on my SNES) and Breath of Fire I and II (I beat the first one twice).

What got me about Zelda was how very awkward it was to maneuver-you had to worry about falling off all the time, you could only have 999 credits, and stuff. It was a pain in the ass and I gave it up.

…so has it really come down to having to screw yourself?

I paid $42.95 plus s&h. I could have just bid, uhh, whatever the minimum bid was and then waited around for the next 6 days, but I couldn’t do that. I’ll send out my cashier’s check tomorrow, certified, overnight mail.

And yes, poohpah, my SO has a rash (poison ivy, or something) so I can’t even touch him. :frowning:
