I registered not more than a few days, and just had a newbie thread, and I found that most people in here seemed to be crude, blunt, and inconsiderate for the most part, of course it was the BBQ pit, but when’s the last time anyone has used a special forum for its actual purpouse?
Um. You must not have lurked here long. Everyone uses special fora for their actual purposes, here. That’s what they’re there for, and that’s why Lynn closed your thread.
Sorry if you feel like you were maltreated, but the forum description should’ve warned you.
After reading the forum descriptions (I assume you did read them), why did you pick the BBQ Pit to introduce yourself?
And if you’d opened your first thread in MPSIMS, you would have found most people to be welcoming, considerate and helpful.
If you’d opened it in ATMB you would have found people to be very helpful but chiefly disinterested.
If you’d opened it in GD you would have found people to be quick to debate, challenging, smart and wise.
I could go on.
You pays yer money and you takes yer choice.

Hullo, Proteus!
Welcome to the boards, and stay away from the BBQ pit. It’s frightening there.
(Although I see that you are from Hell - maybe you’re used to flames?)
Yeah, Hi Proteus.
this doesn’t mean much to you, I’m afraid. I’m a newbie too.
Welcome, anyway.
i before e, except after c. See? we can be warm, friendly, and helpful.
Welcome, guys.
The warmer, funnier, threads are usually in MPSIMS.
But were not all ogres. Some of us are GEVs.
Most of you non-wargamers won’t get that joke.
I, too, registered just a few days ago, and I was warmly welcomed. Of course, I posted in MPSIMS and posted something that the current members of the board would be likely to respond to in a positive way.Shameless Self Promotion of my first post
Read the descriptions of the forums and poke around a bit - they definately have their own flavors, and the Pit is not for the faint of heart. You’ll find that there’s a lot of pretty good folks here. But as a long time lurker, I definately recommend that you get the feel of the place. That way, you’ll get a better idea what to expect.
And from one newbie to another, welcome.
