I remember reading once...

about a dog that had an extremely high IQ. The book I was reading it in was non-fiction, so it’s supposedly true. Does anyone know the name of this dog or anything else about it?

Thanks.

Um, Balto? Lassie? Rin Tin Tin? My mom’s old dog Buddy, who kept figuring out how to get out of the yard? You’ll have to be more specific… What was this dog alleged to have done?

The dog you are referring to was named Schnitzie, Albert Einstein’s pet Schnauzer. It is a little known fact that general relativity was really his idea, and Einstein shamelessly stole it. By the way, it was Schnitzie who chased Schroedinger’s poor cat into that little box.

Might it have been My Dog Skip? A memoir by Willie Morris, first published in 1995ish and re-released this year in support of the movie starring the kid from “Malcolm in the Middle.”

BTW, the real Skip was a black and white Smooth Fox Terrier (like my own dog, Max) NOT a Jack Russell Terrier as in the movie.

We once had a dog who was so smart he could read.

He once saw a sign that said “Wet Floor”, so he did…

Thank you, thank you, and don’t forget to tip your waitress…

Smarter than Triumph the insult comic dog?
