I’m contemplating whether my low post rate would really make it worthwhile to resubscribe. I spend most of my time just lurking anyway…
I don’t actually care that much about posting. The only reason I maintain my charter membership is so I can search. And stalk other Dopers through their profiles. But I still post every now and then just because I can (much to the disappointment of everyone else here :p).

I subscribe because $7.50 is cheap, and I like being able to ask (and answer!) questions in GQ. I don’t really care about the other forums, although I do participate from time to time.

I just re-upped today, too. This seems to be a “Charter Member” only thread - we’ll have to make sure none of those plebes get in. 
I would like to renew as well, but I forget how to go about it. Can someone help me? I’m so forgetful.
It’s under UserCP on the upper left then click on Paid Subscriptions. You should be able to renew by credit card or paypal there.

Wait a minute. What does “Charter Member” mean, anyway?
The ‘Subscribe’ link along the top (third from the left) also works. It can get a bit confusing at times since the word ‘subscribe’ is used to refer to both board membership and thread notifications.
It means ‘really really cool person’. It also means that we’ve maintained an unbroken subscription ever since the board went pay, so we get a 50% discount. But mainly the really really cool person thing.
I’ll be here another year, too. I figure it’s a pretty cheap vice, as these things go.
The US dollar was weak today so I renewed.
I was going to do it yesterday but waiting another day saved me a few cents.
I’m back! Well, it’s not like I went anywhere. But I’m staying. And I get to continue being a really cool person, according to Mbossa’s definition of status.

Anyway, I thought this charter member denomination was something about a free charter trip to some exotic charter member place.
So wheres the charter trip planned this year?
Yeah, me too. I’ll feel special for the rest of the minute or so after reading that.
I thought about it for a couple of days, then re-upped. It’s less than four quid for me.
Where it always is: room 101, down the hall on the right. It’s not so bad, once you get used to the combined squid/goat smell; and there’s pretty good pie.
