I have a web site - http://www.guanolad.com - that houses a silly cartoon strip that I have failed to update in about a year or more. I link to this site on my profile, because I can :slight_smile:

Sometimes I like to check out the stats on my site, to see who is visiting, and from there it shows the referring pages it was linked to from. Lo and behold, I notice today that one of the most popular pages is this one, where I mentioned I work on a porn site.

I just thought that was funny :slight_smile:

I can’t, of course, link to the porn site from my profile, it’s not really allowed here. If you really want to visit it, though, I can probably give you the URL if you email me. Perhaps. But you have to be nice to me first. :wink:

I used to run my own porn site too, until the server died a few months ago. I want to do it again and need some server help. Used to post 100 pics a week and have around 5000 right now. Just for some background :slight_smile:

I know the mods always delete links to porn sites when they’re posted in threads, but linking them in your profile doesn’t appear to be frowned on, as Stoid runs a porn site and links right to it in her profile. I don’t know what the official rule on this is, but she’s never made a secret of it and as far as I know, has never been asked to remove it.

By the way stoid…how do you get those awesome old porn pics? The porn vid store I used to frequent had a good old vid but once it was broken they never replaced it. I love those b&w postcard/peepshow kind of pics…too fucking cool! Am I hitting the wrong antique stores to find em?

There’s a glut of porn in the market, so if you expect to make money from it, you have to offer excellent content. And to offer excellent content takes talent, skill, money, time, and energy, all in abundant supply. If you don’t have that, you’re probably wasting your time, unless you’re planning on ripping people off.

On the other hand, if you just have some nudey pics you want to show people, go ahead. But you won’t stand out from the crowd.

We have people here who run porn sites for sometime. They usually talk about how much money they make.

I always chuckle about those 24/7 live sex sites. To think that people would have sex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, right.
