Elephants break out of zoo, stop at restaurant

SEOUL, South Korea - Six elephants escaped from a zoo parade and roamed around the South Korean capital Seoul on Wednesday before being herded back to their enclosure.

The elephants stampeded into the garden of a private home and, while being corralled, three suddenly changed direction and went into a nearby restaurant.

You know, we always think of elephants as being the biggest creatures on earth, but they can’t be that big if three of them fit inside a building. Still, I guess it’s like the 400-pound gorilla: elephants can eat anywhere they want.

One elephant charged into an alley near an elementary school and hit a woman with its trunk …
“She fell, and I ran away because I was scared,” said a man who was standing with the woman when the elephant charged toward them.

And they say chivalry is dead. :rolleyes:

I saw a video of this and it showed this woman running out from the area the elephants were crowding and these guys are all standing around watching. One of the guys looks at the woman running away like “Sheesh, what’s her problem, it’s just elephants?”
