I saw a schnoodle.

I saw a schnoodle the other day. It was a tiny, black half-schnauzer, half-poodle puppy. It was very cute.

I would imagine it is cute.
Although I just hate the the names for the “newer hybrid breeds” though. Cockapoo? Labradoodle? I know it is a marketing scheme but I would never buy a dog, because it has a cute name.

:: shudder ::
Those names are not so much cute as actively repellent, IMHO. They would cause me NOT to get the dog in question, even if I otherwise liked it.

Labradoodle = Labrador + poodle, right? (Standard, not toy poodle?)
I’m not parsing Cockapoo, though. I keep getting cockatiel + poodle, and that can’t be right.

All puppies are cute - what do they look like when they grow up? That’s what you have to decide if you like.

Cocker spaniel + poodle (usually miniature, not standard or toy)

In addition to labradoodle, I think there’s also a labapoo, which is much smaller.

I took a labapoo the other day and it spalshed all over my schnoodle.

AARRGGHHH.

Splashed.

:wally

Does that mean you had a cockapoo?

I cross breeded a collie and a german shepard. The puppies were all born green. I took them to my vet and he said, “what did you expect from collards?”

I’m not a big fan of “designer mutts” (okay, the breeders prefer “intentional hybridization”), and there’s apparently a fair amount of controversy about it, but…

We had to put our large mixed-breed dog down a few months ago, and my daughter fell in love with one of these “hybrids”, one I’d never heard of before. She’s a LhasaMo - American Eskimo female crossed wirh Lhasa Apso male. Looks and acts like a Lhasa with shorter hair, non-shedding, hardly ever barks. I’ve never really cared for small dogs, but she’s pretty damned cute.

A friend of mine had a peeka-dacha-poo-poo - the grandparents were a Pekingese, a Daschund, and two poodles. It was a neat little mutt.

There’s always the Fox Terrier / Shih-Tzu cross. The female pups are called Fo’ Shizzle Beotches.

I’m so sorry…

I saw a “doodle” and I must say- it was absolutely adorable. He was half great dane and half poodle, so he was great dane sized and faced with a curly coat.

I also saw a “noodle” (newfie and poodle)- it was like a giant, black, long, curly haired poodle. Cute.

That said: muts. The lot of 'em. They’ve got plenty of these fancy pants guys at the SPCA, just make up your own cute name.

Could be worse, you know.

I could have said, ‘I schnoodled a saw.’
