I saw gas for $1.99 today!

$1.58 at the two gas stations across the street from where I live in Tennessee.

Around the Erie, Pa. area it’s been $1.999/gallon for about a week. With the Giant Eagle fuel discount I paid $1.799 a gallon.

I can’t see OPEC going along with something like this. Besides, with that kind of power, why drop prices in the first place? Or at least, why THAT much? Either keep them high to make massive profits, or drop it low to get people buying again. Make up your minds, oil companies!

Anyway, as for what you and Knorf are musing on, I read an article a while back that consumers don’t seem to trust the current pricing to last. Anyway, for it to have the feared effect on environmental efforts and such, prices would have to stay really low for a significant amount of time, and I honestly don’t see this lasting long enough for that to happen.

Down to 1.85 today.

My source for gasoline price info.

It seems odd that Missouri seems to have the lowest gas in the country.

$1.79/gal at my regular station yesterday. It’s down to $1.73/gal a couple towns away.

(I’m not complaining, but…)

This is very confusing to me. I thought for sure six months ago we’d be at $6-7/gal by this time. I filled my tank for $25, whereas back in June it cost $60. The Illuminati must have decided the oil companies got enough money for now and retail needs a boost or something.

You can get gas for a low as $1.59 here.

I filled up earlier in the week at $1.67 for regular unleaded, premium unleaded however was at $2.53.

Go figure.

My local had it for 1.83 today. I suspect if I looked I might find it a little less somewhere, but driving there wouldn’t be worth it.

$1.61 How low will it go?
