I saw Josh Blue on 11/29

A few weeks ago, I saw Josh Blue (Most current winner of Last Comic Standing) perform at my university on 11/29. He performed to a full house (mostly because pre-sale tickets were free with a student ID) and was awesome.

Some of the stuff I remember most from his 1 1/2 - 2 hour set:

His reaction to the Event Security Staff. He got one of the two standing near the stage to sit down. The other he couldn’t see because he was obscured by a speaker. He asked the second guy what his job was and he replied he was there to “protect you [Josh]” Josh replied “From who? them? [pointing at audience]”

He explained the difference between the Para Olympics and the Special Olympics “We compete for medals and not hugs”

His reaction to the heckler during the Q&A time. The guy asked “when to the jokes start” (as if it was some original thought" Josh say to one of the security guys “Heeeeey Buddy. I think this guy wants you” he said that in the condescending voice that people sometimes use when they talk to him.

Did he happen to do a joke or two about how he has cerebral palsy?

it was pretty much his entire set.

Yeah, that was my problem with him on the show. He was funny as hell – the first couple of times. Eventually it got to the point of yelling “there are other topics for comedy, you know!”

Didn’t really bother me anymore than how many comics use nothing but racial relations as their act.
