I saw LotR:TTT last night... (possible spoilers)

Thanks, Dante – that’s definitely something I want to see without hearing kids’ snickers.

The computer priogram written for the abttle scenes is called “Massive” and was made specifically for this movie. It is explained to some degree in the Post-Priduction commentary on the FOTR extended DVD.

In case you’re interested.

BTW…maybe everyone else knew, but I just found out that Sean Astin (who plays Sam) is Patty Duke’s son…not that that is particularly Middle-Earth shattering, but just thought I would mention it.

I also saw that pirated versions of the film are now being sold for $1 on the streets in Thailand and in China. Although why anyone would pay even a dollar for a crappy pirated copy of a film that relies heavily on cinematography is beyond me.

Could I have managed a few more typos? Please excuse!

Dante

just how violent is it? In terms of kids? My then 8 yo handled the FOTR just fine although if I had previewed, he would not have seen it. Now everything I am reading about the TT makes me think no effing way is he going to it but I am not the most popular of parents with him.

I will definitely preview it all by myself but am I fighting the good fight to tell him he can’t go?

If he handled TFotR, TTT will be no problem. We went and saw it with a 10 year old, and he loved it. None of the violence is gratuitous in the least, and there’s no “gore for gore’s sake”. Okay, maybe one time, but it’s done for humour.
