I saw Shirley Ujest this weekend!

Sadly, she was not the famed Doper. The story: I rented Being John Malkovich on DVD this weekend (great movie, by the way). One of the extra features of the DVD was a short film about puppeteering. One of the featured marionettes was a singer and Nell Carter look-alike named Shirley Ujest. The puppeteer said that her voice is Ella Fitzgerald’s, but it wasn’t audible.

Where did your name come from again, Shirley?

I’ve been found out. I’m really a puppet looking for a regime to botch up in a South American Banana Republic, or Gap Store for that matter.

I have not seen Being John Malkovich yet, but now I really want to.

As for how I chose my name, alot of it was inspired from the often quoted “Airplane” movies. However, the Magic 8 Ball gave me permission.

Be sure to get the DVD version, Shirley. You won’t see your namesake on VHS, I don’t think.

Aye, I shall make ye my wife, and build a floor, in me own buildin, between the seventh and eighth, where ye and yer cursed kind can live happily.

Arrrrrrr! Canty, I rarely see you posting now. :frowning:
Perks me up when I do, although I do have to admit, that I was a little peeved at the subject line, since I thought there may have been a get together that I missed. We’re going to have to try to get another Twin City thing going…
