I seem to be slightly chubbier on one side of my body...is this normal?

Maybe I’m just a hypochondriac, but I’m sort of worried about this. I’ve noticed it mostly in my right breast and hip and under my right arm (my underarm is all flabby! I haven’t worn a tank top or swimsuit in a few years now.). I could stand to lose some weight anyway, but the lopsidedness is freaking me out. Do I have something seriously wrong with me, or should I just start exercising and do it in a balanced way?

Maybe this sounds paranoid, but my great-grandmother has had MS for years. While I don’t know much about the disease, I’m afraid I’m going to end up with a devastating neurological disorder too. Hopefully I’m just being silly.

Help!

Well, I’ve recently discovered that I have scoliosos - curvature of the spine for those that don’t know - and I too have lopsided lumpyness.

Perhaps you could have your Dr. check out your back for you?

Hmm. Probably a good idea. They used to check our spines for scoliosis every year when I was in junior high, but it’s probably been 13 years since then. They never saw anything wrong but I suppose things could change.

Well, I was checked in Jr. High too, however, I was somewhat of a late bloomer and didn’t really hit puberty until about 13 - I was then in grade 9 and no longer subject to the checks.

Fastforward 17 years, and it turns out that my spine is a twisted as a corkscrew.

Who knew?

As a general rule, your right arm and right breast will be a little larger. This is often true even for lefties.
