On a recent hike in a National Park I came across a group of young men all wearing identical T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan that is the title of this thread. I tried to ask them about the story behind the slogan, but they were very evasive, and I got no real answer. They did speak English, but with an accent that could have been Scandinavian or Dutch or maybe something else (I couldn’t really tell).
Has anyone seen this slogan before or have any idea what it might refer to? I’m sure there’s an amusing tale out there somewhere.
It’s a riff on the Deanna Carter song “Did I Shave My Legs For This?”
I bought these new heels, did my nails
Had my hair done just right
I thought this new dress was a sure bet
For romance tonight
Well it’s perfectly clear, between the TV and beer
I won’t get so much as a kiss
As I head for the door I turn around to be sure
Did I shave my legs for this?
That was back in 1995. Since then, the area that gets shaved in anticipation of a date has moved.
I’m guessing the men’s shirts the OP saw are parodying this, even though it doesn’t make much sense which you switch genders. (Or maybe it does. I don’t know what the kids are doing nowadays.)
I’m aware of that. But while this may be a reflection of my age, I don’t think most men feel that shaving their balls is a part of their pre-sex grooming.
I doubt I could find a link at this point, but I recall seeing a sign reading “I Shaved My Balls For This?”, held up at a “Tea Bagger Rally,” back in the day, proudly displayed by two young gentlemen enthusiastically taking the piss out of a bunch of whining old people.
Their pictures of this event and that attire may come back to haunt them some day. Because you KNOW someone took pictures and there’s a high likelyhood they tweeted them.
I’ve been shaving for over 40 years and I managed to cut the fuck out of my lip and couple weeks ago. Bled for a day and a half.
Goddamn if I’ll shave my balls!
Heh. I’m usually ok with searching, but I guess I searched “suck fuck T shirt” or something. I was trying to find where one got such a shirt. It was oversized and included upside down crosses.
I’d still like to know where one would wear the shirt.
