I know I am intensely self-aware. I also know that I tend to be completely blind to how others react to what I share. I am beginning to suspect I post WAY too much about personal things that nobody here needs or wants to know. The SDMB isn’t my personal blog and that is where LiveJournal is perfect.
- Nobody I know uses it anymore, so nobody I know will be annoyed by my entries.
- It’s anonymous, unlike Facebook which is populated by virtually everybody I know IRL. The last straw was when my little brother objected when I called our father an abusive drunk. In this age of unprivacy his co-workers and clients may read that.
- It’s large-format. I cannot even say hello in a tweet and I’ve bumped up against Facebook’s limits.
Frankly, I was a bit surprised it still exists since I haven’t heard it mentioned for several years. It’s now owned by the Russkies so my self-censorship requires me to say nothing bad about Putin lest my big brother’s in-laws are carted off to the gulags.
