I sold my house!

That’s great.

I forget, what’s the plan for the interval between June and when you get the new place built? Living on the boat?

In the alternative, you could just jack up my house and drag it down to MD for temporary accommodations. I wouldn’t mind a bit.

Yeah, Ex, we’ll be living on the boat. Our home will be floating at Beacon Marina in Solomons, MD - which just happens to be part of the Comfort Inn complex. Once we sign the annual contract in April, we’ll be eligible for a discount on rooms at the hotel - just in case anyone wants to come visit.

The big question I have is where will I put all my stuff? FCD has been aboard since June of 2002 and his stuff has pretty much expanded to fill all convenient lockers. We’re in for a few fireworks when I show up with my stuff… It will be interesting.

But not as interesting as swampy’s scenario! :D:D:D Oh yes, I can see a few raised eyebrows over screaming fights about fischia drapes in the salon… I was going to contact HGTV about chronicling our construction, and now I’ve got the grand finale!!

And lest we forget, being as I am southern, I could manage a “hissy” or two over wallpaper borders and tract lighting in the living room. This promises to be fun! fun! fun!

Dang, swampy, it’s too bad I didn’t know you when my baby brother was redecorating his house. Instead of the muted earth tones and understated elegance that his decorator foisted upon him, you would have given him a home that would truly have been the talk of the neighborhood! It would have dispelled that stuffy CPA/CFO image once and for all!

Prolly woulda cost me a brother, too…

Ya gotta take the good with the bad… :dubious:

Congratulations FCM! That was suspiciously fast. Did you bury a whole flock of statues in the yard? What’s that about anyway? Herself has been a real estate broker for 25+ years and never heard of that before.

Sorry you’re moving to MD though. While you are in Fla there’s always a slight chance I could get down to visit when I go see my Mom and assorted kin in Atlanta. Happy for you though.

You say you want dark colors in your new bedroom? I’ll send you some pics of our bedroom when we finish redecorating, which should be any century now. (We’re hoping for this weekend actually).

Again, Yay for you!

Some homeless people live in their cars, others have to settle for a boat.

Rough life!

I’m more in day-trip range, myself, but others might find that useful.

BTW, I haven’t forgotten my promise to throw you a welcome Dopefest when you get up here in June. We can talk about what weekend looks good when the time gets a bit closer.

Bumb, we’ll either do the dark garnet again or go for a deep green. All I know for sure is I hate having light colored walls - too much reflection to be truly dark at night.

RTF, don’t forget that June is still tentative for me. If I don’t get a job, I’ll be looking for a short-term apartment here in Jax in the interim. I can’t afford a break in service, especially with the kid going to college. So hold that party idea till we know something more…
