I solved my first NY Times Sunday Crossword!

The one for New Year’s Eve… unassisted!
Also, I finished the L.A. Times Saturday puzzles the last 2 weeks in a row.
Hey, I’ve played the crosswords for years.
I think something just ‘clicked’ in me recently… a specialized type of lateral thinking.

You ever feel this way?

Can’t say I’ve felt that way about a crossword, but as a longtime fan of the NYT Sunday puzzle, I know what it is like to complete one without any help. Congratulations!

Congrats!

Pretty much what I aspire to. At this point, the only ones I can solve all the way are the monday-wednesday in my local paper, which is far far easier than the NY times. I’m only a senior in high school though, so there’s plenty of time to improve.

Congrats! Yes, there’s a whole parallel universe of lateral thinking used in puzzles – now that you’ve entered it, all kinds of puzzles will get slightly easier – and way more fun – for you. Welcome!

The LA Times site has the same puzzles as NY Times http://games.latimes.com/

The Seattle newspaper has some of the others http://www.uclick.com/client/spi/fcx/

I can’t remember which day of the week is supposed to be the hardest but my ex-wife could do it in about twenty or so minutes.
She also know the answer to every frick’n question on Jeopardy.

I swear it like watching Bill Murray’s character in “Ground Hogs Day.”

…And next time I’ll preview before I send my post. :smack:
