Sure there is. Ballotpedia has information, very incomplete, on filing deadlines for independent candidates for 2024. Any well-funded candidate could easily get on ballots in many states. He’d have to hurry to get on the Big Three - Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania - but even those are months off. It just makes sense: hence Pence!
That article was in response to someone saying that Pence never criticized Trump. I found an article that said “criticize” in the first paragraph. Context is everything.
Many of you seem to think that Pence will have a choice when our secret cabal starts pulling his strings. No. He will obey. Bwa-ha-ha-ha!
And in the context of this thread it undermines your argument because in addition to weakly criticizing Trump, Pence also says it’s not going to be him that does anything about Trump.
I am very familiar with crazy. I know crazy. I am crazy. Your OP sounds crazy. Please clear your head, let this train of thought dissipate. Then go into quiet room and say “I support Mike Pence as an independent”. If that doesn’t sound crazy to you I’d suggest taking advantage of the situation by imbibing drugs and alcohol in mass quantities. It’s a kind of celebration for your awakening in crazy land. It’s a fun place to be, we’re all very welcoming as long you don’t say or do that thing that each one of us had and will set us off like dropping a Mento in a 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke. But aside from that it is a lot of fun.
Is Pence the type to try his chance as an independent candidate because he did not get hanged the first time? I doubt it, but if he does, I’ll cheer him up till the bitter end.
And, dear OP, don’t fool yourself: you are crazy. I like that.
But what if we offer him a chance to do a column as by Cecil? Doesn’t everybody have that in their secret hearts of hearts. Don’t say that Pence doesn’t have a heart. I know that. But, still. A Cecil column. C’mon. Who could resist?
Even if the guy turns into a full-on atheist, no chance in hell for me voting for that. I’m sure he would get some of the GQP base who hate LGBTQ rights/people with his history of backing conversion “therapy”. But he’s spineless as a worm.
“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can’t help that,” said the Cat: “we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.”
“How do you know I’m mad?” said Alice.
“You must be,” said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.
Could backfire. Two weeks before the general, Pence sees the dem is likely to win, so he pulls out of the race, endorses Trump (cuz nothing is worse than a Democrat), and pulls victory for Trump out of the jaws of defeat.
Pence: " i have seen the error of my ways. Everything I’ve said about this magnificent leader was wrong. May Jesus forgive me! Please vote for Trump!"
When Pence was Governor of Indiana he passed a law that made it legal to discriminate against gay people.
Knowing that, if you support Mike Pence in any way, shape, or form, you and I will never be friends.
“Pence initially dug in his heels, saying, “I stand by this law,” during a controversial interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on March 29, 2015. Pence was roundly criticized, however, when Stephanopoulos asked him six times whether the new law would allow a business to discriminate against gay couples — and Pence ducked the question six times.”
I think there could be a rational reason Pence might want to throw his hat in the ring. I am sure he knows he would never win as an independent but the GOP would be begging him to not do it so he could extract some hefty favors to get out of the race (like ambassador to Great Britain or something).
Well, it’s just an expression. If there was a Jesus, and what they say about him is true, then he seems like an OK guy in my book. How the people who claim to follow him are the greatest purveyors of fear, hate and intolerance is an ironic head scratcher.
