I.T. Crowd Question [SPOILERS]

So, last night while waiting for bedtime I watched a random episode of The I.T. Crowd.

At the opening of the episode we see Denham being congratulated by his suck-ups for being the super richest most awesome man in the world. Then his secretary comes in and informs him that the police would like to see him to talk about some irregularities. He stands up, walks to the window, opens it, and steps out.

…and I kept waiting for what I REMEMBERED happening.

I totally remember a similar scene. Denham is at his desk, his secretary comes in and tells him the same thing, he thanks her and tells her to tell him he’ll be right out. Then he walks to the window and jumps out…at which point he wakes from his daydream at his desk. His secretary walks in, tells him that the police are there to see him, he thanks her, tells her he’ll be right out, and then walks to the window and steps out.

Did I see an alternate version one of these times or something?

Well, we just started watching this series so thanks a ton for the spoiler in the thread title.

I’ve edited the thread title, which was originally “I.T. Crowd Question - Denham’s Death.”

I never saw the wake-up scene you describe, I’ve only seen it where he jumps and that’s that. But I’ve only watched the shows in reruns on BBCA.

Also, his name is spelled Denholm Reynholm. If you misspell it, he does this.

Wow. I remember the same thing you do, Merijeek. Hmm. I’ve seen the episodes on Netflix Watch Instantly, and just looked and there’s just the single suicide, no dream.

I’m now wondering if I’m conflating it with the scene in Newsradio episode “Daydream,” where Jimmy James sits on a window ledge and asks Dave what the Dow Jones ended up that day. Dave answers him, Jimmy then jumps out the window. Then he wakes up and asks Dave the same question, after which he contemplates the window and changes his mind.

Great Series, too many moments to mention but in a special nod to this thread I give you the time when Jen “outs” a colleague in the works outing, although you may need to know that “heat” magazine is a bit like a low rent “Hello”

It COULD be - there was a point I would have bet my life that “Mayostard” was a MadTV thing…up until I rewatched all of Mr. Show and saw it there.

But I really don’t think so. Hmm.

And sorry about the title. Let’s all assume that I spelled it incorrectly so that it wouldn’t actually spoil things. Clever, eh?

I’ll bet HelloNinja thought it would be stress that would kill him.
