I test for Staff Sergeant tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.

Good luck.

Does he get to change his Doper name as he advances up the grades? I know we’re only allowed one change or something like that, but maybe an exception should be made?

Good luck.

And a fun fact for those of you who don’t know a whole lot about the military: Once you hit NCO rank, you’ll occasionally be called upon to monitor a urinalysis. Just try not to stare.

Good luck, Airman Doors. I have a son in the RAAF, so I take a keen interest in these things.

G’luck!

My nephew is in the USAF…He just signed up for front-line duty to leave his cush database programming job…crazy kid.

He could change it to Sergeant Doors, USAF and be set for the next few years. Provided he doesn’t go OTS, he’d be good for the rest of his career.

From what I’ve seen of Airman Doors, however, he’s certainly smart enough to be an officer. The admins might balk at the additional required changes: Lt Doors, and four years later, Capt Doors. Given that he’s testing for Staff right now (and assuming he’s moving through the ranks with the normal speed) he might even become Major Doors before the 20-year point.

It ain’t my career, though, so I’ll butt out. Airman Doors, when do you get your results? Do you find out before it makes the Air Force Times?

Unless he makes Chief. 'Course, that’s a long way off.

Good Luck!!!

Go get 'em, Doors!

BTW, are you still pondering going for a commission?

Good luck, Airman!

Luck.

Good luck, and, even more important, confidence! I’m sure you’ll do well.

While a “Chief Master Sergeant” is still technically a Sergeant, even a high and mighty captain such as me can recognize the folly of calling a Chief “Sergeant”. I stand corrected. :smack:

Good Luck. Why stop there? How about Lt. Doors?

Good luck, Airman Doors!

Well, I passed, but not with the score I expected. It was a 3 hour test and I finished it in 20 minutes with an absolutely pathetic 88%. Naturally, as the goal is simply to pass I did exceptionally well, but it was well below my standards. So now I get to wait and see. This was really my last obstacle (other than the PT test), so it should be sometime in the next few months.

As far as officer goes, I will be 30 at the end of January and I’ll still have 3 years of school to go, so it’s unlikely that I will ever get that opportunity. More’s the pity, but there’s always Chief to shoot for.

Congratulations!

Congratulations!

I think a celebration dinner is in order!

Robin

yay! Congratulations, Airman!

Way to go Airman!
