I test for Staff Sergeant tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.

Well done!

I’d say Hooah but that’s not right now is it

Well congrats!

Hearty congrats!

And you finished a 3 hour test in 20 minutes?! I am duly impressed!

Good job Sarge!

Heartfelt Congrats!

I know the feeling. Still, you passed, and that’s definitely something to be excited about. Congratulations!

Way to go, sarge.

What kind of test is it? I know nothing about the military, but I’m curious what they ask you.

Congrats, though. It was my extra exclamation points that helped, I know it.

A prerequisite for promotion to SSgt is graduation from Airman Leadership School. Because I am in the Guard I was allowed to take it by correspondence rather than in residence, which truthfully I would have preferred.

Anyway, this was the cumulative test, so now I’m finished, and that plus a 5 skill level and time in grade and service is enough for promotion to Staff, and I meet all of the above standards.

(Belated) Congratulations, Sarge-to-be Doors, and best of luck with future advancements!

Congrats! Good on ya!

Goodonya! How long do you have to wait?

I dunno. Believe me, you guys will be among the first to know.

Airman Doors - I’ve been thinking about you for the last few days! Funny how integral a part of your life a message board becomes, huh?

This daughter went in for basic training in September, 30 2002. Later, I bragged a bit about her here .

Well, I got a call from her supervisor last week, and it seems she made Staff Sergeant!

I thought about you and your test, and wanted to stop back by your thread to congratulate you on your fine achievement and to tell you how proud I am of you, too!

Yeah, the Staff List came out a few days ago. So, how’d it go?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Congrats, Airman Doors!

Just waiting on the date, so far as I know. The Guard does business a bit differently (to say the least).

Congrats SrA § Doors! (Does the AF do the § designation for rank, or is that an Army only thing). Good luck as you join the NCO Corps.

When that list comes out, I want to know two things:

  1. When you sew on Staff,
  2. Where the keg will be.

You can borrow my tap.

Just curious- when you make a new rate do they make you sew the stripes on yourself?
