I think the Poll server is a PC...

I tried to vote in the Mac / PC / Linux poll in IMHO.

Naturally, since I post from a Mac, I clicked the little Mac button.

It froze for a few seconds, then returned me to the poll, with no buttons clicked.

"hmm, " sez I. “I wonder if it took it?”

So I view the results of the poll - mac, naturally, is developing the lead. But no mention of Piper, One, Northern, voting for mac.

So I went back to the poll and clicked on the “mac” button.

And was sternly admonished by the software, “You have already voted in this poll.”

And although I’ve gone to other threads and come back, to give it time, I’m still not listed as having voted for Mac.

Clearly, the server is a PC, is monitoring the results, and is taking steps to ensure they are “accurate.”

Either that, or it’s all a beta development test by Diebold.

I see you listed as a voter for Mac.

You’re on the Mac list, Northern Piper. No worries.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

We’ll get someone to look into it, Northern. My totally uninformed guess is that it might sometimes take the server a while to re-whatchacallit the results.

I’ve noticed more server problems since Polls were implemented.

I ought to blame the Polls for this. But I really think it’s the server, and by extension the SysAdmin, to be at fault.

This is why we let him handle that high-falootin’ tech talk.
