And I suspect a not inconsiderable number of them would then turn around and say that the reason they failed it is that it has a lot of bogus questions that are not what is the true Americam Way and that it was deliberately made to exclude “real Americans”…
Thanks, but apparently you are shouting into the wind. Those who continue to believe the lies will go on believing the lies. I don’t think the words you’ve written can even penetrate into their cerebral cortex.
Just in case you or someone else doesn’t know (and is too lazy to do a search on it), + is for all the other gender/sex and sexual/romantic minorities that exist, for example intersex, asexual, aromantic and nonbinary. More info here.
People have proposed alternatives to LGBTQetc+ that address this issue. They have seen increasing usage in academia.

Are you really still a conservative? I voted Republican starting in 1996 up until 2016 when I couldn’t hold my nose and vote for their candidate. But how conservative was I over those years? I was fine with gay marriage when I voted for Dole, I’ve been against the war on drugs for the same amount of time, and my idea of fiscal responsibility doesn’t include bailing out large companies who have no problem sticking it to the American worker. About the only area I’m right wing on is gun control. I admit I still think of myself as a conservative…but am I?
There are certainly still conservatives out there… but at this point they really should not ever vote Republican, as this is not a conservative party anymore.
This. Right here. This is the kind of divisiveness that Republicans just have a blind spot for.
I don’t think we should cater to the Q community but that might mean something different to me than to others…
R is no longer for Republican (or conservative, which would imply keeping things they way they are as much as possible) but for Regressive - going back to the way things were. Like 150 years ago, at least.
Yes. More like pre-1861.
Black History month is coming up, so we may have a chance to see what conservatives really mean when they bitch about CRT.
I predict that in at least one jurisdiction, Black History month is deemed hurtful to white children, because there’s no White History month……yuck yuck.
I’m giving 50% odds that at least one of these yahoo governors issues an executive order restricting the curriculum of Black History month.
Because it’s not about critical race theory, it’s about enabling the erosion of civil rights, with the ultimate goal of striking down anti-discrimination laws on the ground that they are unconstitutional because they limit freedom of association.
I’ll go one further. I think at some point in 2022, there will be a call to stop teaching that black people are the same as everyone, and deserving of equal rights. Because it hurts the feelings of poor little white supremacist children. Won’t someone think of the children?
The GOP does. Often in inappropriate ways.
I disagree in that they aren’t actually fooling their supporters. They are actually giving them what they want. They want racism, sexism, homophobia, and cruelty. So long as they have a leader who participates in their cruelty and sanctions their own cruelty, they are happy. They don’t care about good government or policy at all.
Because this is what they actually want to do, and they lie about CRT as a way to outrage their base and give them cover to do it:
So, ball is in your court.
You can realize hey, wait, what these guys were saying might have been right, maybe all this CRT bullshit was a way to stir up the culture war to push the aganda they suggested,
or you can rationalize how this has nothing to do with the evils of CRT or any real agenda and CRT is actually still the real threat and whatever fucking nonsense you want to cling to.
Here’s a list of all 850 books that Texas Republicans want to ban. Most of them (over 90%) have nothing to do with race, much less CRT.
Here’s one of the objectionable titles.
This makes any conservative that screams about cancel culture because a publisher decided to discontinue a couple of children’s books a complete and total hypocrite.
And here’s a story about one of the heavily funded groups promoting this new censorship.
To be fair, if you remove some of those words, you get, “any conservative [is] a complete and total hypocrite.” And they are fine with that.
Because one Texas lawmaker wants to do X any conservative is now a hypocrite? I’m not sure this is logical.
It’s not just what the lawmakers (plural) want to do, it’s the complete lack of outrage on the right. Because that’s the right kind of censorship.
Remind me to quote this post back at you next time someone complains about something that AOC does.
Most seem to be LGBTQ related or general sex-ed type books.
