Just one. Not a hateful, spam heavy, or over-the-top rude troll. Just one that asks tongue-in-cheek questions, flames out of context, is moderately rude and inappropriate, etc. Everyone needs a nemesis. Let’s all have the same one. They’re a breath of fresh air sometimes in this otherwise civil oasis.

Query: Does it feed the trolls to mascotize them? I know it’s not the same as responding to their inane posts, but I’d be worried that it encourages their litte egos, somehow.

I don’t think we really need a pet troll, though. We seem to have plenty of the wild sort wandering through here. Evidence seems to suggest that we are on their natural migration path. 
That’s why I said I refer to them as Gnats, rather than trolls.
